Reflecting on life..

The trip to Dwellingup last weekend is the trip that keeps on giving, it was the trip that kept PDP going through a heck of a week. My friend, aka mon amie française Marie, was heading over to have lunch with me. I got a shaky call 'Grace I've had an accident', I knew exactly where it would be. I won't go into details but two minutes later this is what I saw, too much too soon! My heart stopped! The best news, although my friend's much loved camper van that took herself and her late husband on many trips around Australia is a write-off, as is the other car, both drivers were bruised, shocked but unscathed thanks to safety belts. Btw just in-case you're wondering I didn't take this shot until after mon ami was safely in the ambulance :) Aimee got serious flu, looking after her I got it too. The week could have been unthinkably worse.. not always but sometimes, miracles do happen. Happy weekend, take care and stay safe..

  1. So sorry about your friend's accident Grace, it's awful but glad that she's ok. Get better soon too. Hubby had a cold about a month ago, and came home today complaining of sore throat and body again. Both taking all the vitamins we can as I don't want to catch it and it's awful to be sick when you flying in a couple of days! Hope the next few days are better for you. Xx

  3. That is a great reflection photo. Love the way the water bends it. Good to know your friend was not badly hurt in the accident. Cars can always be replaced, but friends can not.

  6. A phone call can change your life! I am happy your friend was not seriously injured. It must have been traumatic however. It looks awful.

    Feel better soon, PDP.

  12. Be safe, grace! Glad everyone is okay. Most people I know are feeling nervous about the state of the world without having the extras that you have had this week!

  16. Oh what a nasty accident. I'm glad that nobody was seriously hurt, but the trusty camper seems to look rather crumpled. I hope your flu has flown away and this coming week will be much improved!

  20. Dreadful! Those are the kinds of weeks you want to put way, way behind you and I hope you're able to. The beauty and peace of your first shot is a perfect meditation on peace. I hope you (and Marie, especially!) can breathe that in.

But you are right, things could´ve turned out worse... oh, don´t you just hate traffic? I´m so glad I can walk to work for the time being.

  22. I'm happy to hear no one was seriously hurt. I absolutely hate traveling on the freeways and interstates! I'd rather take a longer route any day.

    I love that first photo.
